Reindustrialisation requires a very different energy policy than what the UK currently follows. Above all else, energy supply would need to be increased and made more efficient, which means rationalisation of fossil fuel and nuclear construction regulations. I am not sure if Labour or Greens would allow those to happen. Net Zero and renewables require very high investment and thus high energy costs to amortise that investment.
The UK cannot support manufacturing at scale as long as we have energy pricing that is so much higher than the US, China, even Brazil.

That said re-industrial wonks should still get on board, there is certainly space for you within Reform, but make no mistake your job would be more about prevention - stopping "levelling up/ jobs programme think" and coming up with cost-free ways to boost uk industry.

I am against arbitrary targets, hiding system costs and pretty much all UK energy policy post-2005, which unfortunately has been centered around maximising intermittent renewable generation over all other considerations.
Do you have any thoughts on higher wind turbines? I presume they would have to be made in a remote area, which could be difficult for the UK. I don’t hear many talk about iron air batteries. I presume they would have to be made here as well considering the weight. They probably don’t store energy for long enough plus you only get half of the energy out. Maybe the delays on grid build out should be sorted First. I wish I knew more, it’s a complicated subject.
What about sea water cooled data farms? Probably have to worry about the oceans around Britain warming so maybe more coastal erosion as well as the increasing difficulty of cooling the nuclear reactors we have.
On another note what about heating peoples homes from waste heat from power plants? Maybe heat exchange if the coastal waters get to warm though I don’t know how much energy would be needed in this water.
At the moment I’m not sure any party has it. They all keep what they are going to do as vague as possible. I know Farage is hard to get on with others.
On another note what about banning religious schools and building a new parliament building, change the seating arrangements and have an electronic voting system. Also don’t make it an eye sore, maybe Romanesque, gothic or baroque. I’m just throwing wild ideas now.
